Description

In the concordance cosmological model, the largest portion of the Universe’s energy content remains unknown. Galaxy clustering can probe physical processes linking observations to the formation of cosmic structures. Constraining these processes has been traditionally achieved through summary statistics. At the most informative scales for galaxy clustering, where the dark matter distribution is non-Gaussian and anisotropic, summary statistics may lead to information loss. In this talk, I will go through three frameworks that ensure the exploitation of all high-order statistics of the large-scale structure and the self-consistent propagation of uncertainties, employed to constrain the environments of supernovae, galaxy intrinsic alignment and photometric redshifts. I will summarise by touching on opportunities and challenges for future applications.
